Standard Spreaders
Some folks call them ‘dividers’, some ‘spreaders’, and sometimes they are even called ‘splitters’. What ever you call them, they are the traditional way to separate your leader from your weight dropper to prevent tangling the two. Styles 1 and 3 incorporate a reinforcement spring. Style 2 does not. Style 3 has a snap on the lead dropper arm so that sinkers can be either attached directly to the spreader or used with a dropper.
