We did it! We created a family of monofilament-tied-up 3.5 salmon spinners! Wise Guy Soft Ties are designed using inputs from professional fishing guides and other serious anglers.
They incorporate our unique Wise Guy spinner blades, VMC’s “Tech-Set” hooks, Maxima 40 lb test Foam Green Leader, and premium machined (not cheap molded) beads. The upper hook has an egg loop to help keep bait in position and the hooks are tied in opposite directions to provide maximum hook exposure.

3.5 salmon spinners tied up with top-quality materials.
When we set out to create a 3.5 monofilament spinner we wanted to make sure it was right from the get-go. We inquired from a variety of top Northwest Salmon guides and a few hard-core serious anglers as to how they thought a soft tie spinner should be made.
The result is the soft tie spinner you see here. We tested the prototypes in the Pacific Ocean near Astoria and landed 15 salmon for 19 hookups. We found the system to hook easily and hold fast. Salmon had a hard time shaking the hook even when running toward the angler. We opted to not use a Quick Change clevis as they tend to lose blades when a salmon is fighting.
